📜 Diablo 1 Quest Guide

17 Diablo 1 quests total. 4 always available, 13 randomly selected (2 per group). Source: Jarulf's Guide

How D1 Quests Work

Unlike D2, most quests in D1 are randomly selected each game. Only 4 quests are guaranteed (Butcher, Skeleton King, Lazarus, Diablo). The other 13 are divided into 4 groups, and 2 quests are randomly picked from each group. This means you'll see different quests each playthrough. In multiplayer, only Lazarus and Diablo are always available — most quests are single-player only.

Quest Tips

  • Black Mushroom gives +3 to ALL stats — the best quest reward in the game. Always do it.
  • Valor gives Arkaine's Valor — one of the best armors. Prioritize it.
  • Chamber of Bone gives a free Guardian spell book. Always worth doing.
  • Don't talk to Zhar twice unless you're ready to fight. Take the free book and leave.
  • Quest unique items (Butcher's Cleaver, Undead Crown, etc.) are single player only. In multiplayer, bosses drop random magic items instead.
