What Are Breakpoints?
D2R animations run at 25 frames per second. Speed stats like FCR, FHR, and FBR only take effect at specific thresholds — called breakpoints. A single point below a breakpoint is identical to zero.
Why Breakpoints Exist
Because D2R runs at 25fps, speed only changes in discrete frame increments — and you only gain a frame at exact thresholds. Getting 62% FCR on a Sorceress is identical to 0% for that animation; you need exactly 63% to hit the 9-frame cast.
Class Variants
Some classes have multiple tables — for example, the Sorceress has separate FCR breakpoints for Lightning vs other spells, and the Druid has different tables for Human, Werewolf, and Werebear forms.
Common Build Targets
Common targets: Sorceress 63% (9 frames), Hammerdin 75% (10 frames) or 125% (9 frames), Necromancer 125% (9 frames), Barbarian 63% (9 frames), Assassin 102% (10 frames).
Does Paladin Holy Shield Affect Block Rate?
Yes. When Holy Shield is active, the Paladin uses a completely different FBR table with much lower thresholds. With Holy Shield, base block is already 2 frames, and you need 86% FBR to reach the maximum 1-frame block. Without it, you need 86% for 2-frame blocking.
Does Weapon Type Affect Breakpoints?
Yes, for some classes. The Druid has separate FHR tables for Human Form, 1H Swinging, Werewolf, and Werebear. The Amazon has a separate FBR table for 1H swinging weapons. The Paladin FHR differs between standard and spears/staves.
