Privacy Policy

Last Updated: April 2026

DiabloBytes is operated by Akiva Solutions (Austin, Texas, USA). This Privacy Policy explains what information is collected when you visit diablobytes.com, how it is used, the third-party services (including advertising and affiliate partners) that may collect data during your visit, and your rights regarding that information. Contact us at legal@diablobytes.com with any questions.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information You Provide Directly

DiabloBytes does not offer user accounts, comment sections, or newsletters. We do not directly collect any personal information from visitors. If you contact us via email, we retain only what is necessary to respond to your inquiry.

1.2 Hosting Provider (Cloudflare Pages)

This site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages, operated by Cloudflare, Inc. Cloudflare processes your requests as a content delivery network and may automatically collect standard server log data — including your IP address, browser type, referring URL, and pages requested — for hosting, security, and abuse prevention. This data is processed by Cloudflare under their own Privacy Policy, not by us. See Cloudflare's Privacy Policy for details.

1.3 Third-Party Services

DiabloBytes uses or links to the following third-party services, each of which may collect data independently:

  • Google AdSense — We display advertising through Google AdSense (Google LLC). Google and its advertising partners may use cookies, web beacons, device identifiers, and similar technologies to serve ads based on your visits to this and other websites. See §4 below for full AdSense disclosure and opt-out instructions.
  • Amazon Associates — DiabloBytes participates in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program. Product links to Amazon may set cookies to track referrals. See Amazon's Privacy Notice.
  • Cloudflare — In addition to hosting, we use Cloudflare Workers to proxy certain API requests. Cloudflare may log request metadata. See Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.
  • Google Fonts — We load web fonts from fonts.googleapis.com. Google may receive your IP address when fonts are loaded. See Google's Privacy Policy.
  • YouTube — Some pages embed YouTube videos. YouTube (Google LLC) may set cookies and collect data when you interact with embedded players. See Google's Privacy Policy.
  • D2RuneWizard — We fetch live game data (terror zones, Diablo Clone status) from the D2RuneWizard API. D2RuneWizard may log API requests. See d2runewizard.com.

1.4 Analytics

We may use aggregate, privacy-preserving analytics (such as Cloudflare Web Analytics) that do not rely on cookies or individual device tracking. If we introduce analytics that use cookies or personal identifiers (such as Google Analytics), this policy will be updated before such analytics are deployed, and EU/UK visitors will be asked for consent before any non-essential cookies are set.

1.5 Advertising (Google AdSense)

DiabloBytes displays advertising served by Google AdSense. This includes personalized (interest-based) and non-personalized ads. Google and its approved advertising partners may use cookies, device identifiers (including mobile advertising IDs), your IP address, approximate location, and information about your interactions with ads and content to:

  • Show you relevant ads on this site and across the Google Display Network
  • Measure ad performance, delivery, and attribution
  • Detect fraud and improve ad safety

See How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services for full disclosure. You can manage or opt out of personalized advertising at:

For visitors from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland, a Google-certified consent management platform requests your consent before personalized ads and associated cookies are enabled. Without consent, only non-personalized ads are served, using contextual signals rather than tracking cookies.

2. Cookies & Tracking Technologies

DiabloBytes does not set first-party tracking cookies. However, the following third-party cookies and technologies may be set when you visit:

  • Google AdSense & DoubleClick — cookies for ad delivery, measurement, and fraud prevention (e.g., __gads, __gpi, IDE, NID).
  • Amazon Associates — affiliate tracking cookies may be set when you click an Amazon product link, for up to 24 hours after the click.
  • YouTube / Google — cookies set when you interact with embedded YouTube players.
  • Cloudflare — security and performance cookies (e.g., __cf_bm, cf_clearance) used for bot management and TLS.

Most browsers allow you to review, delete, and block cookies through their settings. Blocking all cookies may affect parts of this site's functionality and may prevent personalized ads, but non-personalized ads will still be served.

EU/UK/Swiss visitors are presented with a consent banner before non-essential cookies (including advertising and personalization cookies) are set, in accordance with the ePrivacy Directive and GDPR.

3. How We Use Information

We do not directly collect personal data for our own purposes. Server logs maintained by our hosting provider and the services listed above are used for operating the site, delivering advertising, measuring performance, and preventing abuse, per the respective providers' policies.

We do not sell, rent, or share personal information with third parties for their own marketing purposes. We do not knowingly transfer personal information to jurisdictions outside those disclosed in the providers' policies linked above.

4. Affiliate Disclosure

DiabloBytes participates in affiliate advertising programs, including the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program. We may earn commissions when readers click affiliate links and purchase qualifying products. Affiliate relationships do not influence our editorial coverage or product recommendations.

Affiliate links are disclosed at the point of use on article pages. For a broader summary of these relationships, see our Disclaimer.

5. Data Retention

We do not maintain personal data ourselves. Server logs, ad-serving data, and affiliate-tracking cookies are retained by the respective providers (Cloudflare, Google, Amazon) per their own policies.

6. Your Rights

EU / UK / Switzerland (GDPR / UK GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you have rights under the GDPR and equivalent laws, including the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection. You also have the right to withdraw consent for non-essential cookies at any time via our consent banner.

Because we collect no personal data directly, most data-subject requests relate to data processed by our third-party providers (Google, Amazon, Cloudflare). For requests concerning their data, contact them directly. To contact us, email legal@diablobytes.com.

California (CCPA / CPRA)

California residents have rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right to know, the right to delete, the right to correct, the right to limit use of sensitive personal information, and the right to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. Under California law, the use of cross-context behavioral advertising (such as Google AdSense personalized ads) may be considered "sharing." You can opt out by:

We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16.

7. Children's Privacy (COPPA)

DiabloBytes is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The Diablo franchise is rated M (Mature, 17+) by the ESRB. Google AdSense is configured not to serve personalized ads to users Google identifies as children.

If you believe we have inadvertently processed information from a child under 13, please contact us at legal@diablobytes.com and we will take prompt steps to delete it.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the site grows — particularly when we add or change advertising partners, analytics, or user-facing features. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
