How to Use the Runeword Stat Simulator

1

Pick a Runeword

Search or scroll through all 99 runewords. Each shows its rune recipe, item types, and tier rating. Click to select.

2

Choose a Base

Only valid bases appear — filtered by item type and socket count. Items are grouped by normal, exceptional, and elite. Toggle Ethereal to boost base stats by 50%.

3

Adjust Sliders

Drag sliders for each variable stat (like Enhanced Defense or Added Strength ranges). A level slider appears for per-character-level stats.

4

See Final Numbers

The Results panel shows final defense or damage after all multipliers, plus all stats with your slider values applied. Copy the URL to save your build.

Frequently Asked Questions

How is Enhanced Defense calculated?

Final Defense = floor(Base Defense × (1 + ED%/100)). Ethereal adds +50% to base before this multiplication. So an Archon Plate (410–524 base) with +200% ED = 1230–1572 defense. With Ethereal: floor(410 × 1.5 × 3) = 1845 min.

What base item should I use for Fortitude?

For Fortitude armor: Archon Plate is the top choice — 103 str req, 4 sockets, elite defense. Dusk Shroud (77 str req) and Mage Plate (exceptional, 55 str req) are great low-requirement options. For weapons: Cryptic Axe or Thresher are popular on mercs.

Does Ethereal break eventually?

Yes — ethereal items lose durability and cannot be repaired (unless the runeword grants Indestructible, like Grief in a Phase Blade). For armor runewords, ethereal items will eventually break. For merc armor, mercenaries don't count durability loss the same way. Plan accordingly.

What does the variable stat range mean?

When you insert runes to create a runeword, the variable stats roll randomly within their min–max range. A Grief might roll +340% or +400% Enhanced Damage. The simulator shows sliders so you can compare different roll outcomes before you farm the runes.

Why don't I see some item types for certain runewords?

Bases are filtered to only show items that (1) match the runeword's allowed item types and (2) have enough sockets. A runeword requiring 4 sockets won't show 2-socket bases. Some niche types like throwing weapons or Amazon-specific items may not appear if they don't support socketing.

Can I share my simulator setup with friends?

Yes — the URL updates automatically with your runeword, base item, ethereal toggle, and slider values. Use the Copy URL button in the Results step to grab a shareable link.
