How to Socket Your Base

⚔️ Weapon
Ral + Amn + Perfect Amethyst + Normal Weapon
Adds 1-6 sockets (random). Cannot exceed item's max sockets.
👤
Larzuk Quest Reward — Gives max sockets on normal items. Best way to guarantee exactly 4 sockets on the right base.

Best Base Items for Infinity

Fastest attack speed of elite polearms (WSM −10). Merc hits faster = more Conviction uptime. Eth Thresher is the gold standard (+50% ED on mercs, indestructible).
Budget: Cryptic Axe — Slightly slower but easier to find with 4 sockets at ilvl 26–40. Marginal DPS difference.
📍
Where it drops Hell difficulty — elite polearms drop Hell Act 1+. Eth bases are rare but worth the hunt.
⚙️
Socket ilvl Thresher: ilvl 26–40 = 4 sockets from Larzuk. ilvl 41+ = 5 sockets (too many for Infinity). Hell drops are typically ilvl 79+, so use cube recipe or find a natural 4os drop. Cryptic Axe: same rules — ilvl 26–40 = 4, ilvl 41+ = 5.
🔧
How to socket ⚠️ Hell-dropped Threshers (ilvl 41+) get 5 sockets from Larzuk — too many for Infinity (4os). Options: (1) Find a natural 4-socket Thresher drop, (2) Use cube recipe (Ral+Amn+Perfect Amethyst+Normal Weapon) for random 1–5 sockets, (3) Larzuk on an ilvl 26–40 Thresher if you can find one.
🗺️
Best farming spots Hell Cows (Secret Cow Level — high density, great polearm drops) · Chaos Sanctuary (Act 4 Hell) · Worldstone Keep Levels 1–3 (Act 5 Hell) · The Pit (Act 1 Hell)
Terror Zones scale monster levels to your character level (up to 99), so any terrorized area can drop elite bases — great supplemental farming.
#2
Giant Thresher
Find on Traderie ↗
Higher damage than Thresher with the same WSM −10 attack speed. Best of both worlds if you can find one with 4 sockets naturally or via cube recipe.
📍
Where it drops Hell difficulty only.
⚙️
Socket ilvl Giant Thresher: ilvl 26–40 = 4 sockets from Larzuk. ilvl 41+ = 6 sockets (way too many for Infinity). Hell drops are ilvl 41+ = Larzuk gives 6. Must find a natural 4os drop or use cube recipe.
🔧
How to socket ⚠️ Hell-dropped Giant Threshers (ilvl 41+) get 6 sockets from Larzuk — far too many for Infinity (4os). Find a natural 4-socket Giant Thresher drop, or use cube recipe (Ral+Amn+Perfect Amethyst+Normal Weapon) for random 1–6 sockets.

Best farming spots Hell Cows (Secret Cow Level) · Chaos Sanctuary (Act 4 Hell) · Worldstone Keep (Act 5 Hell)
Terror Zones scale monster levels to your character level (up to 99), so any terrorized area can drop elite bases — great supplemental farming.
