Best Base Items for Spirit
CRITICAL: Must be ilvl 26–40 for Larzuk to give exactly 4 sockets. Farm Normal Secret Cow Level — cows drop Crystal Swords at ilvl 28 (in the 26–40 range). ilvl 41+ gives 6 sockets (too many for Spirit). Low str req (43) and a perfect Spirit base.
Budget: Broad Sword — Also 4-socket capable at low ilvl. Slightly higher str req (48) but equally valid.
Where it drops Normal difficulty — specifically Normal Secret Cow Level (ilvl 28). IMPORTANT: Do NOT use Hell Crystal Swords (ilvl 41+ = 6 sockets from Larzuk). Nightmare may also be too high.
Socket ilvl ilvl 26–40 = Larzuk gives 4 sockets. ilvl 41+ = Larzuk gives 6 sockets (too many for Spirit). Normal Cows drop Crystal Swords at ilvl 28 — perfect range.
How to socket Use Larzuk quest on a Crystal Sword from Normal Cows (ilvl 28, in the 26–40 range) for guaranteed 4 sockets. Cube recipe (Ral+Amn+Perfect Amethyst+Normal Weapon) gives random 1–6 sockets — gambling, not recommended.
Best farming spots Normal Secret Cow Level (ONLY source for correct ilvl — farm here exclusively) · Normal Act 3 shops (Ormus/Hratli sometimes sell Crystal Swords) · Normal difficulty drops generally (ilvl stays low)
Terror Zones in Normal difficulty can also drop low-ilvl Crystal Swords, but Normal Cows are faster and more reliable.
4-socket capable at any ilvl (max is 4). Slightly heavier (str req 48) but identical Spirit stats. Actually safer than Crystal Sword — Larzuk gives 4 sockets at ilvl 26+ with no upper-ilvl risk.

Broad Sword is safer than Crystal Sword for Spirit — max is 4 sockets, so even TZ-elevated ilvl can't give you 6 sockets.
The ONLY non-Paladin shield that can have 4 sockets. Requires 156 str — plan stat allocation around this. Every caster not using a Paladin shield needs a Monarch for Spirit.
Where it drops Hell difficulty — Monarch first appears at monster level 43 (Hell Act 1+). Needs ilvl 41+ for 4-socket potential from Larzuk.
