About DiabloBytes

Stay awhile and loot.

Our Mission

DiabloBytes is a community hub covering the entire Diablo franchise — from Diablo I through Diablo IV, Immortal, and Diablo II: Resurrected. We build practical tools (runeword calculators, drop simulators, DClone trackers, breakpoints, area levels), publish builds and guides, and report on patches, seasons, and meta shifts as they happen.

We are an unofficial fan site — not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Blizzard Entertainment, Inc. All Diablo trademarks, artwork, characters, and game content are the property of Blizzard Entertainment.

Who Runs DiabloBytes

DiabloBytes is published by Akiva Solutions, an independent content and technology company based in Austin, Texas. Akiva Solutions also operates and maintains a family of niche-community sites and open-source developer tools.

We do not accept sponsored content or paid placement in guides, builds, or news coverage. See our Disclaimer and Privacy Policy for the full breakdown.

Our Editorial Process

We publish three kinds of content, and each follows a different process.

Tools, Builds, Guides & Data

All tools, build articles, leveling guides, and game-data references are researched and written by the DiabloBytes editorial team using live game data, Blizzard patch notes, community testing, and original playtime. Build numbers, drop rates, breakpoints, and recipe tables are cross-checked against in-game behavior and official patch documentation before publication.

News Coverage

News articles covering patches, seasons, announcements, and events follow a standard editorial process:

  • We monitor trusted sources (Blizzard News, Wowhead, PC Gamer, Polygon, IGN, Eurogamer, GamesRadar, GameSpot, Kotaku, DiabloFans) for new Diablo developments.
  • Stories that pass relevance, freshness, and quality checks are written from the full source article — not just a headline or snippet.
  • Every story passes a structured editorial review — sourcing, factual accuracy, and framing (PTR vs. live, announced vs. released) — before publication.
  • Original sources are cited on every article.
  • We don't fabricate quotes, patch numbers, or skill values; if the source material doesn't support a specific claim, we leave it out.

News articles carry a "DiabloBytes Staff" byline to indicate team attribution rather than individual authorship.
