How Diablo III seasons work
Seasons are fresh-start ladders: you create a new seasonal character, level from scratch, and progress through the Season Journey — chapter objectives that award Haedrig's Gift class-set pieces along the way. At season end, seasonal characters, their gear, and their paragon experience roll into your non-seasonal roster.
Each season also carries a seasonal theme that modifies play for that season only. For the current theme's specifics, check the official season post from Blizzard — themes change per season and we only document what's officially published.
