Build Philosophy FAQ
What makes a Diablo Immortal build different from PC Diablo builds?
Three systems do the heavy lifting in DI that don't exist on PC. Paragon trees give you a parallel skill tree per role (Vanquisher for damage, Survivor for tankiness, Treasure Hunter for farming, Gladiator for PvP) that you swap between activities. Helliquary fights drop bosses whose claws are slotted into a separate gear track that gates raid difficulty. Reforge stones overwrite stat lines on legendary gear, letting you push secondary stats like Critical Hit Damage or Beneficial Effect Duration past what dropped naturally. A DI build guide that ignores any of these three is incomplete.
Are paragon trees more important than legendaries in 2026?
Legendary slots and set bonuses still matter most for ceiling damage, but paragon outpaces gear for the first six months of any new account because it caps slower. Vanquisher is the default damage tree for PvE; switch to Treasure Hunter only when you're farming Hidden Lairs or Bounty boxes for materials, then back. Most build guides tell you which tree to lock into and which secondary tree to unlock once you're past 300 paragon.
How does Helliquary affect my build?
Helliquary bosses (Lassal, Vitaath, Tomb of Fahir, Izile, Kuluxua, etc.) drop demonic remains slotted into the Helliquary track. Each remain has stats and a unique trait that interacts with class skills — for example, the Vitaath remain extends Frost duration which boosts cold builds across multiple classes. Your Combat Rating comes from Helliquary upgrades plus gear, and CR gates which dungeons you can enter. Pick Helliquary remains that match your build's damage type, not just whatever drops first.
What are reforge stones and which ones should I use?
Reforge stones unlock secondary stat lines on legendary gear. The five most universally useful are Critical Hit Damage, Beneficial Effect Duration (for buff uptime), Damage Taken From Elites Reduced, Crowd Control Duration, and PvP Damage Done. Reforge slots are limited and each stone costs material — don't reforge a piece you'll replace in two paragon levels. Save reforging for legendary essences you've already settled into long-term.
