Sweep Attack Crusader — DI PvE Build Guide
By the DiabloBytes team · Updated May 2026
The Sweep Attack Crusader is Diablo Immortal's top PvE Crusader build for 2026. Sweep Attack is your primary — a flail arc that scales with charge time — and the Karawan\'s Catch legendary extends the channel so each strike keeps damaging the pack. Wrap that core in Consecration for the floor-DoT (slow + dash-prevention thanks to Zaynula\'s Last Hymn), Judgment for the damage amp, and a burst slot of either Condemn or Draw and Quarter. The reworked Steed of Winds gives a 50% base attack speed buff that pushes Sweep into a sustained-AoE machine.
A-tier confirmation: Crusader holds an A-tier PvE position on the 2026 Diablo Immortal class tier list, with the Sweep Attack setup as the recommended endgame build for Challenge Rifts, Helliquary, and Inferno Bounties. (Crusader sits at S-tier in PvP — see the Class Tier List for cross-mode comparisons.)
Skill Bar (6 Slots)
Charge-based primary that arcs a flail in front of you. Charge longer for more range and damage; full charge knocks enemies away. Karawan's Catch extends duration so the arc deals continuous damage to the pack.
Holy ground. Damage-over-time on enemies inside, plus with Zaynula's Last Hymn off-hand it slows movement by 30% and blocks dash skills for 2 seconds (6-second internal cooldown per enemy).
Damage amp on a target area. Pop it on a cluster before charging Sweep. The damage taken multiplier compounds with everything else in the kit.
Mobility + engagement tool. With Steed of Winds reworked, dismounting grants +50% Attack Speed for the buff window. Always engage with this.
Burst slot. Condemn for tightly-packed groups (charge-up explosion); Draw and Quarter for line-AoE and mobility chains. Pick by content shape.
Fill with whichever utility skill the content needs — Holy Banner for group buffs, Falling Sword for an alternate engage, or Sacred Fire as a budget filler. Adjust per content.
Legendary Items
Set Items (4-piece + 2-piece)
- 4-piece Angmet\'s Conflagration — primary attacks have a chance to attach an Ignite status that deals damage over 3 seconds (up to 3 stacks). Sweep Attack as a primary fires this off, and the Ignites stack across the whole pack inside Consecration.
- 2-piece Vithu\'s Urges — extends the duration of beneficial effects on you and your party by 30%. Stretches Steed of Winds attack speed and Judgment buffs across the whole Sweep window.
- Alternate (DoT-leaning): 2-piece Grace of the Flagellant — +15% Continuous, Channeled, and persistent ground damage. Sweep Attack and Consecration both qualify. Use as a flex 2pc instead of Vithu\'s when you don\'t need buff uptime help.
Legendary Gems
Five-star slots first; one and two-star fill the rest based on your awakened-rank progression.
Paragon Tree
- Primary tree: Vanquisher — Damage, crit chance, crit damage. The PvE DPS spine. Cap before branching. Zeal is a particularly high-priority node here for the attack speed buff that compounds with Sweep Attack\'s primary tag.
- Secondary tree: Treasure Hunter — unlocks at Paragon 50. Gold and drop multipliers for farm sessions. Pick up the experience nodes en route, then circle back.
- Tertiary tree: Survivor — once you push deep Helliquary tiers and start eating bigger telegraphs, slot survivor for the Life and damage reduction. Crusader is melee-tagged, you take more hits than ranged classes.
- PvP swap: Gladiator — only for organized PvP weeks. Do not slot in PvE.
Helliquary Bosses
Slot the highest-Combat-Rating Helliquary bosses you have unlocked. Bonus priority order:
- Lassal the Flame-Spun — flat damage bonus. Universal value for any DPS build, Crusader included.
- Vitaath the Shivering Death — secondary damage trinket. Pairs cleanly with Lassal in the second Helliquary tier.
- Slot any additional unlocked Helliquary trophy you have at the highest available rank — the Combat Rating from the trophy itself usually beats theme-matching at lower ranks.
Reforge Stones
- Mercenary Stone — first pick. Damage multipliers that work in solo and group content equally. Family Bonus is content-agnostic, unlike kill-required stones.
- Conqueror Stone — late-game alternative for damage-against-elites focus. Sweep Attack + Judgment on elite packs scales hard with this stone\'s family bonus.
- Ravager Stone — situational. Family Bonus only procs on enemy kills, which makes it weak for boss-only content. Skip for Helliquary; usable for trash-clear bounties.
- Roll target stats: when reforge unlocks at item ranks 6, 11, and 16, prioritize critical hit chance and critical hit damage on every primary piece — Sweep Attack tags so many enemies per arc that crit% has compounding value.
Rotation
- Steed Charge into the pack — dismount triggers the Steed of Winds 50% Attack Speed buff window.
- Drop Consecration at your feet — Zaynula\'s Last Hymn slows the pack and prevents dash escapes.
- Cast Judgment on the cluster for the damage amp.
- Charge a fully-channeled Sweep Attack — Karawan\'s Catch keeps the arc damaging while you move through the pack. Stay inside Consecration to keep the slow + dash-block ticking.
- Pop Condemn (or Draw and Quarter) for the burst slot once Judgment is amping.
- Repeat Sweep Attack as your primary spam until everything is dead, refreshing Consecration when the floor DoT drops.

FAQ
Is Sweep Attack the best PvE Crusader build in Diablo Immortal right now?
Yes. The Sweep Attack Crusader anchored by Karawan's Catch and Zaynula's Last Hymn is the top PvE Crusader setup heading into 2026. It clears Challenge Rifts, Elder Rifts, Helliquary, and Inferno Bounties faster than the older Falling Sword burst variant because Sweep Attack runs as your primary — the damage is sustained, not gated behind a cooldown. Falling Sword still has a niche in heavy-burst Helliquary boss windows, but Sweep is the all-content default.
How does the rotation work?
Open with Steed Charge to close to the pack — the reworked Steed of Winds adds 50% attack speed when you dismount. Drop Consecration on the floor (Zaynula's Last Hymn slows and prevents dashes). Toss Judgment to amp damage on the cluster. Charge a fully-channeled Sweep Attack into the pack — Karawan's Catch extends the duration so the arc keeps damaging. Use Condemn or Draw and Quarter for the burst window, then back to Sweep filler. Hold Sweep on the buffed pack until everything is dead.
What is the most important legendary?
Karawan's Catch in the main-hand slot is the build-defining piece — it extends Sweep Attack's duration so the arc deals continuous damage instead of a one-shot strike. Pair with Zaynula's Last Hymn off-hand for the Consecration slow + dash-prevention combo. The Proven Flail third pickup makes Sweep Attack immune to knockback and control during channels, which is a quality-of-life game-changer for Helliquary boss fights.
Can I use this build for PvP?
Partially. The PvE Sweep Attack kit is too damage-focused for serious PvP. Crusader PvP wants the tank/support meta — Holy Banner, Conjuration of Light, Consecration with Zaynula's, and Falling Sword for engages. Keep Karawan's and Zaynula's as the gear core, but swap Draw and Quarter for Holy Banner and respec into the Survivor paragon tree instead of Vanquisher. PvE and PvP Crusader share two of three weapon legendaries but want different skill bars.
