Multishot Demon Hunter — DI PvE Build Guide
By the DiabloBytes team · Updated May 2026
The Multishot Demon Hunter is Diablo Immortal's top PvE DH build for 2026. The kit layers three damage sources — Multishot as the main spend, Vengeance for the auto-fire buff window, and Knife Trap for area lockdown — and the Hailfire shoulders make every Multishot fire two extra homing rockets. The 4-piece Windloft Perfection set is what pushes the build over the top, granting a 20% damage multiplier any time you have the Thousand Winds movement buff up. You stay at range, you keep moving, and you delete packs.
A-tier confirmation: Demon Hunter holds an A-tier PvE position on the 2026 Diablo Immortal class tier list, with the Multishot + Windloft setup as the recommended endgame build for Challenge Rifts, Helliquary boss-pushing, and Inferno Bounties. See the Class Tier List for cross-class comparisons.
Skill Bar (6 Slots)
Standard primary attack. Filler when Multishot is on cooldown.
Core damage skill. Fires a fan of arrows in a wide cone. With Hailfire shoulders, every cast also launches 2 homing rockets. Fully scales with Windloft 4-piece while moving.
Damage and resource window — also auto-fires extra rockets while active. Pop on cooldown; refresh before pulling a new pack.
Area-denial trap. Layer multiple traps in a chokepoint, pull mobs through them. Strong against Helliquary boss adds and Elder Rift density.
Damage reduction + invisibility. Use defensively against telegraph hits, or offensively as a positioning reset before a Vengeance window.
Mobility and reposition. Keeps Windloft Perfection's Thousand Winds movement buff active, which keeps the 20% damage multiplier ticking.
Legendary Items
Set Items (4-piece + 2-piece)
- 4-piece Windloft Perfection — grants Thousand Winds (+15% Movement Speed) and a +20% damage multiplier while Thousand Winds is active. The buff drops for 3 seconds when you take damage, so combat positioning matters. The DH-defining endgame set.
- 2-piece Issatar Imbued — extra damage scaled to Movement Speed. Layers on top of Windloft\'s movement buff for compounded damage while kiting.
- Alternate (mobility-focused): 4-piece Issatar Imbued + 2-piece Vithu\'s Urges — heavy Movement Speed plus the 4pc Vithu cooldown reduction on every skill cast. Use only if you don\'t have the 4pc Windloft yet, or for high-density bounty runs where Vengeance uptime matters more than the flat 20% damage multiplier.
Legendary Gems
Five-star slots first; one and two-star fill the rest based on your awakened-rank progression.
Paragon Tree
- Primary tree: Vanquisher — pure offense. Damage, crit chance, crit damage. The standard starting tree for any damage-dealing class and the DPS spine of this build. Cap before branching.
- Secondary tree: Treasure Hunter — unlocks at Paragon 50. Gold and drop multipliers during farm sessions. Pick up the experience nodes en route, then circle back.
- Tertiary tree: Gladiator — useful nodes for hybrid PvP weeks and the additional damage-against-elites. Optional in pure PvE.
- Group tree: Soldier — only if you raid 4-stack regularly. Group buffs are real but solo content prefers Vanquisher density.
Helliquary Bosses
Slot the highest-Combat-Rating Helliquary bosses you have unlocked. Bonus priority order:
- Lassal the Flame-Spun — flat damage bonus. Always slot if available — universal value for any DPS build.
- Vitaath the Shivering Death — secondary damage trinket. Pairs with Lassal and slots into the second Helliquary tier.
- Slot any additional unlocked Helliquary trophy you have at the highest available rank — the Combat Rating from the trophy itself usually beats theme-matching at lower ranks.
Reforge Stones
- Mercenary Stone — first pick. Damage multipliers that work in solo and group content equally. Family Bonus is content-agnostic, unlike kill-required stones.
- Conqueror Stone — late-game alternative for damage-against-elites focus. DH bursts elites hard with Vengeance + Multishot windows, so this scales well after a Mercenary Stone is awakened.
- Ravager Stone — situational. Innate damage attributes are strong, but its Family Bonus only procs on enemy kills, which makes it weak for boss-only content.
- Roll target stats: when stones unlock at item ranks 6, 11, and 16, prioritize critical hit chance and critical hit damage on every primary piece. The Multishot kit fires enough projectiles per second that crit% layers compound fast.
Rotation
- Cast Vengeance before pulling — opens the buff/auto-fire window.
- Drop Knife Trap at the chokepoint the pack will run through.
- Spam Multishot — Hailfire fires the homing rockets every cast on top of the base shot.
- Use Daring Swing to reposition between casts. This keeps Windloft\'s Thousand Winds movement buff and the 20% damage multiplier ticking.
- Pop Smoke Screen to dodge boss telegraphs or to reset positioning before a Multishot volley on a tightly packed cluster.
- Crossbow Shot as filler primary while Multishot and Vengeance are both on cooldown.

FAQ
Is Multishot the best PvE Demon Hunter build in Diablo Immortal right now?
Yes. The Multishot + Vengeance build anchored by the Windloft Perfection set is the top PvE Demon Hunter setup heading into 2026. It clears Challenge Rifts, Elder Rifts, Helliquary, and Inferno Bounties at the fastest pace of any DH variant, and the four-piece Windloft turns Multishot into a near-spammable AoE deleter while keeping enough single-target to handle bosses. Crossbow Shot solo-farm setups still exist for bounty speed-running, but Multishot is the all-content pick.
How does the rotation work?
Open with Smoke Screen for the damage window and to dodge telegraph hits. Pop Vengeance for the buff/auto-fire add. Drop Knife Trap on the pack and pull aggro through it. Spam Multishot — the Hailfire shoulders fire homing rockets on top of every cast, and Pinpoint Overflow on the main-hand concentrates the arrows for repeated hits. Daring Swing is your reposition for both safety and to keep Issatar/Windloft movement bonuses ticking. Crossbow Shot is the primary filler when Vengeance and Multishot are both down.
What is the most important legendary?
Hailfire on the shoulders is the build-defining piece — Multishot fires two homing rockets per cast on top of the base shot. Pair with Pinpoint Overflow on the main-hand to concentrate Multishot arrows so they can hit the same enemy multiple times. Without Hailfire your DPS-per-cast falls hard and the build feels like a cooldown-watcher instead of an AoE deleter.
Can I use this for PvP?
Not as-is. PvE Multishot stacks too far into pure damage and gives up the survivability you need in Battlegrounds. For PvP, swap Knife Trap and Daring Swing for Smoke Screen-and-Vault mobility, drop the 4pc Windloft for 4pc Issatar Imbued + 2pc Vithu's Urges (Vengeance uptime + cooldown smoothing), and respec into the Gladiator paragon tree. PvE and PvP DH share gear ranks but want different skill bars and different sets.
