Mirrored Blades Warlock Build
By the DiabloBytes team · Updated June 2026
Patch 3.2 went live May 22, 2026 alongside the Season 14 ladder reset. Changes from the official patch notes that touch this build:
- Eldritch bonus damage now combines additively (was multiplicative). This is a damage reduction for stacked physical-Eldritch builds, but Mirrored Blades' weapon damage was increased to partially offset it.
- Two-handed weapons can now only be wielded one-handed when the offhand carries a Grimoire — not a shield. Plan your offhand around a Grimoire base.
See the full Patch 3.2 notes. Tier placement will be re-measured after the patch is live and community testing settles.
Overview
The Mirrored Blades Warlock is an Eldritch-tree melee build that turns a single weapon swing into a flurry of spectral duplicates. Mirrored Blades projects mirrored copies of your weapon that strike alongside your attack — each duplicate carries a share of your weapon damage and rolls its own hit check, so one input delivers a stack of hits. Built around heavy weapon Enhanced Damage and Increased Attack Speed, it is described by build authors as one of the hardest-hitting builds the game has to offer against single targets, which makes it a premier Uber and boss-killer.
This is an endgame build, not a starter. It assumes a character that has already reached the level cap of the leveling phase before transitioning, and it scales with expensive weapon and skill gear rather than working out of the box. Single targets are handled by layering Sigil: Lethargy underneath the enemy and unloading Mirrored Blades; packs are cleared with Cleave. Hex: Purge is the single-target multiplier — every duplicate that lands can apply the hex and trigger an eruption, so a single Mirrored Blades cast can cause many magic explosions on one target.
Because the Warlock's Levitation Mastery passive levitates the weapon, you can pair a two-handed weapon with a class Grimoire offhand. After Patch 3.2 that offhand must be a Grimoire rather than a shield. The build leans on the Demon tree for support — a bound demon aura and Summon Defiler pets that soak hits and split incoming damage.
STRENGTHS
- Among the hardest-hitting single-target attacks in the game
- Premier Uber and boss killer
- Mirrored Blades swings independently of weapon base speed
- Hex: Purge adds stacking magic eruptions per hit
- Two-handed weapon plus Grimoire offhand via Levitation Mastery
WEAKNESSES
- Gear-hungry — not a starter or budget build
- Relies on weapon Enhanced Damage and IAS to scale
- Physical damage hits physical-immune walls without a Sunder
- Patch 3.2 additive change reduced stacked Eldritch damage
- Weaker pack clear than dedicated AoE builds
Skill Allocation
All damage skills are in the Eldritch tree, supported by Demon-tree pets. Max in this order: Mirrored Blades, then Cleave, then Hex: Purge, then Demonic Mastery, then Bind Demon, with any remaining points going into Levitation Mastery.
Max (priority order)
Primary attack. Projects spectral duplicates of your weapon that strike alongside you, each carrying a share of your weapon damage and rolling its own hit check — so a single swing delivers a stack of hits. It swings on its own cadence rather than your equipped weapon's natural attack speed. This is your highest priority skill.
AoE arc swing that hits everything in front of you. Your group-clearing tool — Mirrored Blades is single-target focused, so Cleave covers packs. Maxed second after Mirrored Blades.
Weapon hex (unlocks at level 12). Gives hit enemies a chance to erupt in a magic explosion when struck. Because every Mirrored Blades duplicate is a separate hit, a single cast can apply the hex and trigger multiple eruptions on the same target — which is what drives this build's single-target burst. Maxed third.
Demon passive that raises the cap on how many demons you can field. After Patch 3.2 it requires base skill-point investment to raise the max demon count, so commit hard points here (roughly 10 before counting +skills) to keep your pet wall up.
Binds a demon to grant its aura to your party. Patch 3.2 gates this behind hard points — 10 to bind Champions, 15 for Uniques, 20 for Super Uniques — so invest accordingly for the aura tier you want. Build toward 20 with +skills factored in.
Passive that levitates your weapon — this is what lets the Warlock wield a two-handed weapon together with a Grimoire offhand. It also boosts your attack power. Dump any leftover points here after the priorities above are satisfied.

Gear
Real-world gear · affiliate
In-game gear aside, the one peripheral that changes how this build plays is a high-button MMO mouse — bind every skill, potion, and town portal to your thumb instead of hunting the keyboard mid-fight. The Razer Naga line (12–19 buttons) is the ARPG staple.
The single biggest priority is maximizing weapon Enhanced Damage and Increased Attack Speed, plus Deadly Strike for the double-damage chance. Everything else is built around +skills, IAS, and survivability.
Two complementary directions. A high Enhanced Damage two-hander such as Tomb Reaver pairs with a Grimoire offhand and supplies raw weapon damage. Alternatively the new-era Void runeword (Thul + Zod + Ist in a 3-socket dagger) is a one-hander packed with caster and skill stats: Indestructible, +2 to All Skills, +40% Faster Cast Rate, Adds Cold Damage, +10–15% to Magic Skill Damage, +1–3 to Abyss, +8–12 to All Attributes, 30% Better Chance of Getting Magic Items, and Level 4 Decrepify charges (build it in a non-ethereal base so the charges can recharge). Roll an elite knife base for Void so it can also roll +to Hex: Purge.
A class Grimoire. After Patch 3.2, a two-handed weapon can only be wielded one-handed when paired with a Grimoire (not a shield), so the Levitation Mastery setup requires a Grimoire base in the offhand. Spirit (in a Grimoire) is a strong, accessible choice for +skills and Faster Cast Rate.
Guillaume's Face for Deadly Strike and Crushing Blow, or Harlequin Crest (Shako) for +skills, life, and damage reduction.
Enigma is the priority for Teleport — mobility lets you reposition between targets and balances damage, attack speed, and Magic Find. Its +skills bonus is a welcome extra.
Chance Guards add Magic Find for farming runs without sacrificing the build's core function.
Arachnid Mesh — +1 All Skills, Faster Cast Rate, and Slow Target.
War Traveler for added Magic Find and damage, or Waterwalk for the life boost and Faster Run/Walk.
Mara's Kaleidoscope — +2 All Skills and all resistances.
Stone of Jordan (+1 All Skills, mana) and Bul-Kathos' Wedding Band (+1 All Skills, life).
Charms
Annihilus, Hellfire Torch, and Warlock combat grand charms (Eldritch or Demon skillers). Fill the remaining inventory with small charms carrying life, resistances, and max damage. Carry a Sunder Charm if you intend to farm physical-immune zones — Patch 3.2 makes Sunder Charms reachable from any monster with Magic Find.
Mercenary
Act 2 Might mercenary is the standard pick — the Might aura amplifies the physical component of your Mirrored Blades hits.
Pride (Cham + Sur + Io + Lo in a Giant Thresher or other polearm) supplies the most off-weapon Enhanced Damage through its Concentration aura, stacking with the merc's own Might.
Breakpoints
INCREASED ATTACK SPEED (IAS)
Increased Attack Speed is one of the two highest-priority weapon stats (alongside Enhanced Damage). Stack IAS from the weapon and supporting gear to push your swing rate as high as the build allows. Tune to the IAS breakpoints for your specific weapon base, since the exact frame thresholds vary by weapon class.
FASTER CAST RATE (FCR)
Faster Cast Rate smooths out applying your hexes and sigils and re-summoning pets. The Void runeword (40% FCR), Spirit Grimoire, and Arachnid Mesh contribute here. Aim for a comfortable FCR threshold rather than maximizing it at the expense of weapon damage.
Playstyle Tips
- Single targets and bosses: drop Sigil: Lethargy underneath the enemy, then unload Mirrored Blades to obliterate it. This is the build's core kill sequence.
- Keep Hex: Purge active on the target — every Mirrored Blades duplicate that lands can apply the hex and trigger a magic eruption, so a single cast stacks many explosions onto one enemy.
- Groups: drop Sigil: Death on the pack first, then Cleave to swing through them — the sigil chains explosion kills as enemies die.
- Use your bound demon and Summon Defiler pets as a front line. The Defilers soak hits and split incoming damage across multiple targets, protecting your relatively fragile melee body.
- Mirrored Blades swings on its own cadence independent of your equipped weapon's base speed, so you are not punished for choosing a slow, high-damage two-hander.
- Teleport from Enigma lets you reposition between targets and chain boss kills quickly; Blade Warp is the budget alternative before Enigma.
- Against physical-immune monsters, equip a Sunder Charm or route around them — Mirrored Blades is primarily physical and will stall on an unbroken physical immunity.
Leveling Into the Build
This is an endgame build — guides assume you reach the leveling-phase level cap on a different setup before transitioning into Mirrored Blades. Level with an easier Warlock spec, then respec and gear up.
Best Targets & Farming
UBER TRISTRAM & BOSSES
This build's identity is single-target burst, which makes it a premier Uber and boss killer. Sigil: Lethargy plus a Hex: Purge-stacked Mirrored Blades cast deletes high-health single targets faster than most builds.
CHAOS SANCTUARY
Cleave handles the corridor packs while Mirrored Blades melts the seal bosses and Diablo. Enigma Teleport keeps the run fast between seals.
TRAVINCAL
The Council Members are clustered, high-value single targets — exactly what Mirrored Blades is built to delete. A fast, repeatable rune-farming route.
