Diablo 2: Resurrected has received Patch 3.1.1, addressing numerous bugs discovered after the Reign of the Warlock DLC launch last week. The patch focuses on fixing client stability issues, Chronicle UI problems that were causing collection progress to be deleted, and several Nintendo Switch-specific crashes.

The Reign of the Warlock DLC introduced new content including the Warlock class, but players quickly encountered issues with the Chronicle system accidentally deleting their collection progress. A hotfix was deployed to address this critical issue, and today's patch continues those fixes while addressing additional bugs discovered across all platforms.

What Changed

Patch 3.1.1 includes the following fixes across General, UI, and Console categories: **General Fixes:** - Fixed VFX distortion in Chronicle's backlight when applied on Amazon - Fixed the game client freezing - Fixed a crash when interacting with the available game list with mouse and keyboard - Fixed not being able to craft 'Mosaic' runeword online non-ladder - Fixed Diablo Lightning Breath to hit characters at point blank range (originally fixed in Patch 3.1) **UI Fixes:** - Fixed Mania runeword improperly appearing in the Chronicle as Hustle - Fixed tooltip for Apocalypse ability - Fixed title screen error from appearing - Fixed an issue where Chronicle text appears as 'eligible' for items that have already been discovered **Console (Nintendo Switch) Fixes:** - Fixed players getting locked on 'Ladder Board' UI after docking or undocking - Fixed a crash when searching Chronicle on Nintendo Switch - Fixed crash from docking or undocking while on Options 'Brightness' or 'Screen Space' - Fixed crash when connecting Nintendo Switch to a Dock with Loot Filter's 'Edit rule' tab open - Fixed UI overlap issue on handheld platforms when using mouse and keyboard

What This Means for Players

Players who experienced the Chronicle collection progress deletion issue should now have their collections properly preserved. The Mosaic runeword is now craftable in online non-ladder play, opening up build options for players who don't have access to ladder-only content. The Diablo Lightning Breath fix ensures the boss's lightning attack properly damages characters at close range, which is particularly important for melee-oriented builds facing the Diablo summon boss. Nintendo Switch players will see significant stability improvements, especially those who regularly dock and undock their systems. The Ladder Board lock issue and various crash scenarios have been resolved, providing a much smoother experience on the platform.

What's Next

Players should verify that their Chronicle collection progress is now properly saved and that all discovered items display correct status. Those using the Mosaic runeword in online non-ladder play can now complete their builds without issues. The development team will likely continue monitoring for any remaining bugs following the Reign of the Warlock launch, with future patches addressing any new issues discovered by the community.
