Diablo 4 Season 12 Quality of Life Improvements Now Live

New traversal mechanics, wardrobe options, and channeling changes arrive in Season 12.

Diablo 4 Season 12 has launched with several quality of life improvements designed to streamline gameplay and reduce friction during progression. The patch addresses long-standing player feedback regarding traversal mechanics, UI clarity, and action channeling.

The update arrives alongside the seasonal content cycle, bringing practical changes that affect how players navigate Sanctuary, manage their equipment appearance, and execute repeatable in-game actions.

What Changed - Nightmare Dungeon doors are now all opened by default, removing the need to interact with individual door switches. - Traversal speed now scales with movement speed, including mount speed for traversals that can be jumped over while mounted. - Using a traversal now resets the mount cooldown, allowing faster repositioning. - Potion cooldown is no longer different when in Fields of Hatred, matching the standard cooldown elsewhere. - Masterworked Greater Affixes now have their own distinct icon to make them stand out in inventory. - A new Hide Weapon option has been added to the Wardrobe, allowing players to conceal sheathed weapons. - Channeling times for repeatable actions like Town Portal have been reduced and now cap at 0.5 seconds. - The damage threshold before stopping a channeled action has been increased from 5% life to 20%.

What This Means for Players The traversal changes significantly improve mobility efficiency. Players can now chain traversals while mounted, and the mount cooldown reset on traversal use means continuous movement without waiting. This is particularly impactful for farming routes in open-world activities. The channeling adjustments address one of the most frustrating gameplay elements—having Town Portal interrupted by minor damage. Increasing the interrupt threshold to 20% life means players can complete channeled actions more reliably during combat, especially in high-difficulty content where chip damage was previously problematic. The Hide Weapon option provides cosmetic customization that many players have requested, allowing for more personalized character appearances without affecting gameplay stats. Masterworked items with Greater Affixes now being visually distinct helps players quickly identify their best gear when sorting through inventory, saving time during inventory management sessions.

What's Next Season 12 continues the ongoing quality of life improvements that have been a focus for the development team. Players should expect future updates to address additional feedback from the community as the season progresses. The next major content drop and subsequent balance changes will likely arrive in the coming weeks, following the established seasonal cadence.
