D4 Class Tier List — Season 13: Reckoning / Lord of Hatred

By the DiabloBytes team · Updated May 2026

Lord of Hatred shipped on April 28, 2026. After 10 days and seven hotfixes, the meta has shifted dramatically — Barbarian and Sorcerer surged into S+, Rogue jumped from B to S, Apocalypse Warlock fell back to A, and Druid slid to B on the consolidated endgame list. This page reflects the current meta as of May 8, 2026.

📊 What's changed since launch

  • Barbarian moved from A to S+ (Whirlwind / Minion both top-tier).
  • Sorcerer moved from A to S+ (Ball Lightning Orbital is highest-DPS build in the game).
  • Rogue moved from B to S (Penetrating Shot + Dance of Knives both elite).
  • Necromancer moved from A to lower-A after Hotfix 2 nerfed Iron Maiden / Bone Prison variants.
  • Apocalypse Warlock dropped from S to A on the consolidated list — still strong, no longer the headline pick.
  • Druid slid to B. Companion / Werebear builds clear Torment comfortably but don't push the top Pit tiers.

S+

S+-Tier

Barbarian

Surprise winner of the launch meta. Whirlwind and Minion Barbarian are both S+ on the current endgame tier list. Whirlwind self-spawns Dust Devils at level 15, Gohr's Devastating Grips and Ramaladni's Magnum Opus rework make 2H scaling explosive.

Top builds: Whirlwind (S+), Minion (S+), Rend

Sorcerer

Ball Lightning Orbital is the highest DPS build in the game right now. Mage-Lord's Aspect, Berú of the Threefold Set, and the channeling rework reshape Sorc into a tanky melee-range nuker. S+ on the consolidated endgame list.

Top builds: Ball Lightning Orbital (S+), Firewall

S

S-Tier

Warlock

New class. Still strong but Apocalypse Warlock has slid down to A on the consolidated list. Dread Claws and Lunatic remain top-tier. Highest AoE damage in the game — ideal for Echoing Hatred. Trade-off: minimal defensive skill tree.

Top builds: Dread Claws, Lunatic, Apocalypse, Demon Summoner (Minion)

Paladin

Returning class with the deepest build diversity at launch. Wing Strikes (Arbiter), Hammerdin, and Holy Light Auradin are all confirmed S-tier. Tanky frontline with strong AoE.

Top builds: Wing Strikes, Hammerdin, Auradin

Rogue

Promoted hard from B-tier launch projections. Penetrating Shot Rogue with Nightstalker's Aspect and Nilfur's Narrow Eye 5pc is now S-tier. Dance of Knives also extremely strong.

Top builds: Penetrating Shot, Dance of Knives

A

A-Tier

Necromancer

Blood Wave with Kessime's Legacy remains strong. Hotfix 2 (Apr 29) nerfed Schadenfreude Iron Maiden and Bramble Bone Prison damage values — both were testing far above intended output. Class is still A-tier but lost two top variants.

Top builds: Blood Wave, Summons

Spiritborn

Evade Counterswarm Spiritborn sits at A-tier with other Evade variants. Eagle Evade builds remain strong. Versatile but no class-defining top build.

Top builds: Evade Counterswarm, Eagle Evade

B

B-Tier

Druid

Slid to B in the consolidated meta. Companion Druid (with Nafain's Bestiary Talisman set adding bear companions) is the most forgiving Druid build but doesn't top leaderboards — clears Torment comfortably without pushing the highest Pit tiers.

Top builds: Companion, Rabies Lacerate, Storm
