What Pit tier unlocks Torment I?

Complete Pit Tier 10, then activate the difficulty at the World Statue. Lord of Hatred lowered the Torment I gate — before the expansion it required Pit 20.

How does the Lord of Hatred Torment ladder work?

Lord of Hatred (live since April 27, 2026) expanded Torment from 4 tiers to 12. Verified unlock gates: Torment I = Pit 10, Torment II = Pit 25, Torment III = Pit 40, Torment IV = Pit 55. Tiers V-XII unlock sequentially — you cannot skip tiers, and the higher gates also require Paragon glyph milestones. Check the World Statue in-game for your exact next requirement. Each Torment tier adds +100% Gold and Experience and a penalty of 250 Armor and 25% Resistances.

How hard is Torment XII?

Roughly equivalent to Pit Tier 100 in raw difficulty — content that demands a deliberately optimized build. Progression through the 12 tiers is strictly sequential.
