Barbarian — Diablo IV Class Guide
By the DiabloBytes team · Updated May 2026 · Season 13: Reckoning / Lord of Hatred
The Barbarian is a dual-wielding berserker who hauls four weapons into combat at once — the Arsenal System lets every skill scale a different weapon slot. Resource is Fury, generated by Basics and Shouts, spent on Core skills. Lord of Hatred turned the launch-week underdog into the surprise S+ winner of Season 13: Whirlwind and Minion Barbarian both sit at the top of the consolidated endgame tier list, with Whirlwind trading Pit-pushing crowns with Ball Lightning Sorcerer.
⚔ Lord of Hatred Changes
- → Channeling rework: Whirlwind auto-fires Mighty Throw periodically while you channel.
- → Gohr's Devastating Grips overhaul: the old Gohr's effect is now baseline on the Level-15 Whirlwind skill choice — the unique itself stacks new modifiers on top.
- → Ramaladni's Magnum Opus rework: two-handed weapon scaling reworked for explosive late-game damage on 2H builds.
The Arsenal System
Barbarians are the only class that equips four weapons simultaneously. Each skill is bound to one slot and grants Expertise when used with the matching weapon type. Stat affixes from all four roll into your sheet — gear up four times the breadth of any other class.
Slot for sweeping cleave and bleed. Whirlwind, Rend, Death Blow scale here. Highest base damage.
Slot for stagger and Overpower. Upheaval, Hammer of the Ancients, Ground Stomp scale here.
Fast attack-speed slot for Frenzy, Double Swing, Flay. Procs the most often.
Bash, Charge, Steel Grasp. Generally the Basic-skill slot for Fury generation.
Top Season 13 Builds
Rankings reflect the current Lord of Hatred meta. See the full class tier list for cross-class context.
Channel and screen-clear with Mighty Throw auto-firing every couple seconds. Gohr’s overhaul + channeling rework moved it to the top of the meta.
Newly viable in LoH — summons fight alongside Shouts and Arsenal swaps. One of the two top picks of the season.
Bleed-stack ramp build. Strong single-target, comfortable Pit pushes once stacks land.
Steel Grasp + Iron Skin reflect bruiser. Tankiest melee variant, strong against single bosses.
Overpower-scaling slammer. Dropped from S-tier in earlier seasons but still fully viable.
Speedfarm Helltide and dungeon clearer. Not a Pit pusher but the fastest leveler.
