Season of the Construct introduced the Seneschal Companion — a customizable robot spider — alongside new Vault dungeons. Community reception was muted: the Seneschal felt weak, Vaults were repetitive, and the mid-season Gauntlet launch was plagued by exploits. Season 3 is widely regarded as D4's low point, with Steam concurrency declining against Last Epoch's launch.
